Malayalam star Nivin Pauly has been given a clean chit by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in a sexual assault case, stated by Kerala police on Wednesday (November 6). The case was filed against Nivin by a woman at Oonnukal police station in Kerala’s Ernakulam district.

The investigation against the other accused in the case is still ongoing. The authorities have filed a report in the Kothamangalam court asking that Pauly’s name be taken from the list of accused.
As per the officials, the report was submitted to the first-class judicial magistrate court, Kothamangalam. Investigators revealed that Nivin was not part of the scene on the time and dates specified in the complaint.

Nivin took to Instagram and thanked his fans for their support during the investigation. In the note, he wrote, “Heartfelt gratitude to everyone who stood by me. Thank you for all the love, prayers and support.”
In September, Nivin and five others were named in a case filed by Kerala Police after a woman accused them of sexual assault. She claimed that the offence had occurred in Dubai the previous year. The complainant alleged that the accused had promised her a role in a film.
The charges were filed under sections 354 (assault or use of criminal force on a woman), 376D (gang rape), 354C (voyeurism), 450 (trespass), 342 (wrongful confinement), 376(2)(n) (repeated rape of the same woman), 506 (criminal intimidation), 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).
